Welcome!
I'm Merv Collins, Fingerstyle Acoustic Guitarist. I've been
playing Guitar since the '60s and am deeply into the world of fingerstyle guitar and also dabble with slide (lap) and
guitar synthesis as well. I currently have 3 CDs of original material released. My most recent album titled "Fingers
& Strings" came out on March 11, 2011 to go with my two previously released CDs, "Bits & Pieces" which
was released in 2006, and "True to the Music" which came out in 2008, all of which I'm quite proud of. I've been performing
around the Chicago area since moving here from the Detroit area back in 2005 and am always on the lookout for new venues to
perform at, so if you know of any good spots, please let me know. I also enjoy getting involved in jam sessions with other
musicians I meet as I'm a "lead guitarist" by nature too. I'm also part of a great fun duo named "Guyz
with Bad Eyez" with my good buddy, Don (The Maestro) Humbertson, who's a marvelous singer and 12 string picker extraordinaire.
I play lead guitar with Guyz and occasionally do some background vocals, although quietly...Don's the "real"
